Silicone is a derivative of quartz rock combined at high temperatures with carbon, that is, a silica-based rubber. From this base, various physical forms such as gel, oil and solid can be obtained.
Silicone has high transparency, versatility and excellent behavior in various physical and chemical media, and can be transformed in multiple production processes such as injection, compression molding, extrusion, autoclave, casting, etc.
Among its most notable characteristics, the following properties of silicone stand out:
In addition to the standard compact silicone, at VARGORT we have: compact food silicone, compact THT silicone, compact antimicrobial silicone and compact fireproof silicone.
Despite the fact that silicone is inert by nature, we have compact silicone approved and certified in the laboratory as suitable for being in contact with food.
Silicones normally resist up to 200ºC continuously, but in this compact silicone formulation we obtain a compact silicone thermally prepared to resist a wide range of temperatures ranging from -80ºC to 300ºC.
This type of compact silicone is specially formulated so that it is not contaminated by microbes or fungi, and is ideal for applications in environments that may be prone to microbial or fungal contamination, or in spaces where total sterilization of its components is required.
This range of compact silicones is designed with a flame retardant quality to prevent the ignition of the material and its components, and is certified in the laboratory as complying with the UL94 test and/or the EN45545 railway standard.
All our ranges of compact silicone can be adhesived on one or both sides if they are sheets or flat joints, or if they are profiles in the desired part.
